Eduljee Framjee Allbless Niramay Niketan (EFANN)
Instituted in 1885 — over a century of service to the sick, the destitute, and the marginalized.

EFANN was instituted in the year 1885 and has since grown in leaps and bounds in the service of humanity, especially those on the peripheries and those marginalized.
Projects Executed at EFANN
A. Leprosy Hospital
The first Leprosy hospital in Asia was instituted in 1885, and still takes care of leprosy patients on its premises. The Leprosy Ward is supported by the ADHS (Asst. Director of Health Services), Govt. of Maharashtra.
B. HIV/AIDS Hospice
A 100-bedded Hospice was instituted in the year 1990. It collaborated with the National AIDS Control Authority (NACO) and the Mumbai District AIDS Control Society (MDACS).
After more than 35 years of committed service to those with HIV/AIDS, and due to the decline in the disease, EFANN closed the HIV/AIDS ward in the year 2025.
C. Diversified Services (2025)
EFANN has diversified its services to meet the needs of the present times. In 2025, it commenced the following services:
i. Manger Destitute Home
Instituted in Feb. 2025. A 25-bed destitute home for males and a 25-bed destitute home for females, presently at full capacity.
ii. General Non-Cancer Palliative Care Centre
Instituted in Feb. 2025 on an OPD basis, with a footfall of @ 20–25 cases every OPD day. OPD days: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, 09:30 AM – 01:30 PM.
iii. Pediatric Palliative Care Centre
Instituted in May 2026 on an OPD basis. OPD days: Mondays, Tuesdays & Fridays, 09:30 AM – 01:30 PM.
iv. Emergency Care & Recovery Centre (ECRC)
Instituted in Feb. 2025 in collaboration with "The Banyan" group, based in Chennai. A 30-bed facility for female destitutes with mental illness, running at full capacity. The ECRC is managed round the clock by an MD-Physician, Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Social Workers (MSW), Nurses, Health Care Workers, and housekeeping staff.
v. Ozanam Pathological Laboratory (OPL)
Instituted in the year 2017, but discontinued during COVID in 2021. Upgrading and revival of the facilities is in process, to be completed soon.
vi. The Emmanuel Bailly Seniors Abode
A proposed 50-bed Seniors Abode. The infrastructure is completed, and the Home will be fully operational in 2027.
D. The Bombay Institute for the Deaf & Mutes (BIDM)
This is also a Project of the Central Council of Bombay, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, instituted in the same year as EFANN, in 1885. The same Bishop, His Lordship Leo Meurin, handed over both EFANN & BIDM to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in 1885.
The Institute takes care of @ 150 Deaf & Mutes children on its premises at Nesbit Street, Mazgaon, Mumbai.
